Hi! 👋🏾 I'm Chanell (sha-nell)!
I've been wielding my camera for over 6 years and it has slowly grown from a hobby to a passion. I started by photographing my own holiday photos, then began shooting porch portraits for friends during the early days of COVID and things progressed from there. I've photographed lots of families and kids and one thing I know from experience is that kids are full of energy and unpredictable, (especially when you're trying to get them to do something without staining their clothes and wrecking their hair...), so I'm all about compact sessions where spontaneity is key and candid playfulness is encouraged.
Over the years my interests have grown to include commercial photography. I've learned that whether I'm photographing kids playing, a headshot for a small business owner, or a bottle of shampoo, there's joy to be had in creating images that capture personalities and brands in an authentic and appealing way. I love playing a role in creating those stories and helping families and small business owners present their best selves to the world.
(P.S. My husband, who is not a photographer, took this photo of me and he's incredibly proud that I consider it one of my favorite photos of myself. He won't let me forget this fact. You did well, Matt. ❤️)
